FAQ on Updating Credit Cards

Author: Optuma Team Last updated: Jun 11, 2019 08:16

Overview

This article covers details discussed in an email sent by Optuma CEO Mathew Verdouw between June 17 to July 3rd 2019 regarding some changes to the Optuma company name on invoices, and the need to update Credit Card details in the portal.

Q. How do you charge my card if you do not have the details?
A. We use PCI compliant merchants who have secure facilities to store your credit card details. When you enter in your details, the card is encrypted and sent to the merchant where they store it and return to us a token (a random identification). When your subscription is due, we use that token to charge your card. While we have never had any breach, we felt it was safer if we did not store credit cards on our servers.

Q. Does this affect my Lifetime Services subscription?
A. No, our obligations to you have been assigned to Optuma Pty Ltd. Your services will continue with no changes.

Q. Do I need to update my payment details if I am using Market Analyst 6 / 7 / 8 instead of Optuma?
A. Yes. If you have an active subscription with Optuma for Data / Services you will need to update your credit card details. However, while you’re doing that in the portal it’s also the perfect time to download the setup file for Optuma and check it out. We think you’ll find the latest version has a great number of improvements for you to take advantage of.

Q. Can I swap my payment method from Credit Card to Direct Deposit?
A. If your subscription is renewed on an annual basis you can change your payment method to direct deposit. Monthly subscriptions can only be paid using a credit card.

Q. Are there any changes to the Terms & Conditions, other than the company name that I need to be aware of?
A. We did do some minor updates as we reviewed the agreement. Moving clauses and grammatical edits to improve the readability of the document. No policy changes were made.

Q. What is this web-based application you mentioned in the email? When will it be available?
A. Dashboards are being designed to simplify access to scans, quantitative testing and portfolio management. The reality is that there are very few people who are sophisticated enough to use Optuma as it stands today. It is an advanced Technical Analysis application. Our goal is for dashboards to be a solution which is much easier to use and much more accessible than Optuma is today.

Q. You mentioned an option to invest in Optuma as a company, do you have more information on those options?
A. Not at this stage. As dashboards come online, we will consider if we feel that it is appropriate to work with investors to accelerate growth.
