Optuma missing a critical file

Author: Optuma Team Last updated: May 22, 2020 14:34

Overview

When Optuma detects a critical file is missing from the main program folder the following error message will appear on start up:

Cause

The most common cause of this issue is Antivirus or other Internet Security programs incorrectly quarantine Optuma files.

Solution

The first step is to open the Quarantine folder via your Antivirus program. Locate any Optuma based files (MAIM5.dll for example) and restore the file(s) to their correct location.

If you are unsure how to do this please contact your Antivirus programs support team.

Once the file has been restored, we recommend you ensure Optuma’s primary folders have been added to the Antivirus programs trusted list. Details on how this can be done for the most popular Antivirus programs can be found here:

If you are unable to locate the missing file in the Quarantine folder you can re-run the Optuma setup process. This will install a fresh copy of the program files while keeping your saved work in tact.
