US Equities Combined Exchange

Overview

The US Equities Combined exchange takes the individual AMEX, NASDAQ and NYSE exchanges and merges them into a single folder / exchange.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The Old US Equities exchange will be retired on May 31, 2021. If you do not adjust your account before then it will be done automatically on that date.

The reason for this is that symbols regularly swap between AMEX to NYSE, to NASDAQ, etc and when this occurs duplicate or fragmented historical data can be left in the old exchange. The combining of all these exchanges into a single data selection makes for a more streamlined experience.

By merging all three into a single exchange these codes can remain whole, without the need for manual updating of Watchlists, Scans, Alerts & Workbooks.

All support materials and example workbooks will assume that you are on the new combined data selection.

If you are still on the old US database you can convert to the new exchange by logging in to your account page, where a pop up will appear with steps to follow:

F.A.Q.s

Q. Are there any additional costs to convert to the US Equities (Combined) exchange.
A. No, there are no costs associated with the conversion.

Q. What happens to my saved work, do I need to rebuild my scans, workbooks, etc?
A. No, as long as you have Optuma v1.4 or higher all your saved work will be converted automatically. If you are using an older version of Optuma or Market Analyst you can manually convert workbooks to the new data exchange here.

Q. How long does it take to convert?
A. New historical data will be downloaded the first time you login to Optuma after converting. This download can take up to 30 minutes depending on your internet connection speeds.

Q. Do I have to change over?
A. Yes, there are issues for us to maintain two sets of data and the benefits of the new system outweigh the annoyance of the conversion. We are planning a full shut down of the old system by the end of May 2021.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the conversion process please contact the support team: support@optuma.com
