Overview

The Size Chart is a new style of Market Intelligence chart, which allows you to display a number of criteria on a chart, and measure how many symbols within a selected universe match those criteria.

The larger the size of the criteria’s bubble, the more symbols are passing that criteria.

Depending on the criteria being used Size charts can be used to see changes in trend across a large number of symbols within a custom portfolio, monitor the health of a custom portfolio, or perform sector analysis.

Clone Chart: Creates a copy of the chart within the same page tab using the same settings / symbol list.

Print Chart: Prints a copy of the chart as a PDF.

Restore Default Settings: Click this action if you have adjusted the default settings of the Size Chart, and wish to return to the standard properties originally installed with Optuma.

Save Settings as Default: If you have adjusted any of the Size Chart’s properties (such as the default scripts, for example) you can save the adjustments as your new default setting. Each time you open a new Size Chart it will display using the new settings.

Send To: Expands to show different locations the Size chart can be sent to. Options include Clipboard (to paste in a different program), Image File, and if you have the publishing module Word, Outlook or Powerpoint.

The Send To action also includes an option to create an **Animated GIF** of the Size chart.

This will take a snapshot of each day for the number of selected days, then combine them into a single animated GIF image.

Open List As: Allows you to open the list of symbols used to build the Size Chart as a different chart style which also uses multiple codes (RRG for example).

Size Scripts: Expands to show the individual scripts being used on the Size chart. Each script will display a corresponding bubble on the chart (the larger the bubble, the more symbols in the list match this criteria). The scripts used on the Size chart should produce a be a True / False result, for example, Close() > MA() From this property you can add / remove scripts being used on the Size chart. You will need a minimum of two scripts for the Size chart to work correctly.

Show Values: Shows / Hides the list of symbols used to build the Size Chart on the right-hand side of the chart.

Date Range: Sets the amount of historical data loaded for the Size Chart (Last Year by default).

Scales Font Size: This slider bar can be used to increase / decrease the size of the text labels displayed in the X and Y scales.

Date Control Link: If a price chart for a security displayed in the Size Chart is tiled alongside the Size Chart, selecting this option will display a vertical date line on the price chart. The date line can then be repositioned and the Size Chart will automatically correspond to the selected date position.

Show History Slider: Allows you to show / hide the history slider bar displayed along the top of the Size chart.

Linked to List: You can link the Size Chart to a preset list of symbols contained within a Scan, Symbol List or CSV file. If linked to a scan the Size chart will update automatically with new results each time the scan is ran.
