Overview

For clients with a live data feed from Interactive Brokers, it is possible to keep track of orders and place trades directly from the chart in Optuma.

Placing an Order

You need to have the chart open for the security that you wish to place the order for.

Right-click on the chart background, select the Order icon and left-click on Place Order as per the following image.

From here you can select either a Buy or Sell transaction. You can then adjust the Quantity, Order Type, and other associated values as required.



Note: If you require further information on the different order types that are available and for general assistance in placing an order you will need to contact your broker directly.

Once you have adjusted the order parameters you are now ready to place the order by selecting the Transmit button.



After the order has been placed the Order Manager is opened automatically displaying details of the order placed.



Any pending orders are also displayed in the price scale of the chart.



It is also possible to quickly adjust the order value by left-clicking on the order icon in the price scale and dragging it to the desired position.

Order Manager

The Order Manager allows you to monitor your Account, Current Orders, and Current Positions. It is automatically displayed after placing an order but can also be accessed from the Settings menu and from the Right-Click Menu.

To access the Order Manager from your chart right-click on the chart background, select the Order icon and then left-click on Order Manager.



The Order Manager will display as per the following.

Order Transactions

Through the Order Manager, it is also possible to place an order (for a security that has an existing order), cancel an order, or modify an order.

Modifying an Order

To modify an existing order select the Current Orders tab then right-click on the Order you wish to modify and select Modify Order.

From here you can adjust the properties of the order as required then select Update Order to submit.

Cancelling an Order

To cancel an order select the Current Orders tab, right-click on the order to wish to cancel and select Cancel Order.

Placing an Order

To place an order you will need to select the Current Order or Current Positions tab, then right-click on an existing order for the desired security. Next, select Place Order this will then display the Order Entry window.

Closing a Position

If you have an open position under the Current Positions tab, then this can be closed by right-clicking on the entry and selecting Close Position At Market.
