Overview

When you open a chart in Optuma, the time frame of the chart is displayed on the chart header beside the name and code of the chart (1 Day for example).

This indicates that each bar on the chart represents 1 day of price action.

The following preset time frames are available in Optuma:

  • 1 Tick
  • 1 Minute
  • 5 Minutes
  • 60 Minutes
  • 1 Day
  • 1 Week
  • 1 Month
  • 1 Year

Requires real-time data

To change the time frame left-click the time frame label once and a list of available time frames will display.

Left-click on the time frame you wish to view and the chart will update accordingly.

Shortcut Keys and Buttons

Keyboard shortcuts for different time frames (ALT+D for a daily chart, ALT+W for weekly, for example) can be set up under the Settings menu. Additionally, Action buttons for each time frame can be added to the Custom Toolbar.

Creating Custom Time Frames

If you require a time frame other than those preset with the program you are able to create it. Click on the time frame label in the chart header and select the Customise option.

In the window that opens, enter the value and duration of the new time frame (either ticks, minutes, days, weeks, months, and years) and click the Add button. Note that you can also assign a keyboard shortcut to this and the existing time frames (Alt+D for daily, for example).

Requires real-time data

Once added, the new timeframe will be available from the drop-down list.
