The Optuma close value is different from the eSignal platform

EXPLANATION

If you are streaming live data from eSignal into Optuma you may notice the close value on some futures charts in Optuma differs to the chart that is displayed in the eSignal platform.

If this is occurring then It is possible that in the eSignal platform you have following chart setting enabled Use Settlement as Close on daily and higher values.

SOLUTION

OPTION ONE

Configure eSignal to not use Settlement values for the Close.

If you are not wanting to use the settlement value for the close then you can deselect this option in the eSignal platform by selecting the Chart menu and from there select Properties.

From the window that next displays you will need to select the Edit Chart tab.

Next, deselect the check box next to Use Settlement as Close on daily and higher values then select Close.

OPTION TWO

Configure Optuma to use Settlement Values for the Close.

It is possible to now configure Optuma to use the settlement value for the close. To do this follow the below procedure.

Go to Data > Data Providers > eSignal. Select the check box next to Use settlement price for futures.
